Wrong-Way Traffic Collision in West Covina Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

WEST COVINA, Calif., Oct. 1 (KNN) — One person was killed and two were injured in a traffic collision involving a wrong-way driver in West Covina Monday evening.

West Covina police officers and the fire department received multiple 911 calls around 7:47 p.m. regarding a wrong-way traffic collision at South Azusa Avenue and East Greenville Drive.

Firefighters and paramedics pronounced one person deceased at the scene. Two others were transported in unknown conditions to a local hospital.

A neighbor who declined to speak on camera said the SUV was traveling the wrong way and caused the head-on crash.

West Covina PD had both north and southbound Azusa Avenue closed as they investigated the fatal collision.
