Political signs stolen from front yards near Corbin Park

SPOKANE, Wash. — People in the Corbin Park neighborhood said they feel unsafe after their political signs were stolen from their front yards over the weekend.

Several Harris-Walz signs were taken from people’s front yard, leaving many residents frustrated.

“It upsets me that we have a right to put something up on our yard, just like our neighbors had, and it feels like an infringement upon our ability to express our political opinions in a peaceful way,” said Jess Hatch, whose sign was stolen.

Hatch said she was on her front porch when she saw three people she suspects are responsible for taking the signs.

She said they threatened her and her husband after noticing her Harris-Walz sign.

“[They said] profanities regarding our political views, and then said ‘I ought to come back and kill you,'” said Hatch.

Other residents are also feeling worried after the incident.

“To wonder if we are safe to disagree is such a troubling thought,” said one person who lives in the neighborhood.
