OCT 2 RB ROOM THINNER The Cleveland Browns announced on Tuesday that they have waived running back Gary Brightwell. Brightwell appeared in games against the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders this season, playing on special teams.
Brightwell joined the Browns’ practice squad on Aug. 29 after spending the offseason with the Giants and training camp with the Jaguars. Brightwell was signed to the active roster on Sept. 21.
The former Arizona Wildcat was a sixth-round pick of the Giants in 2021 where he spent three seasons appearing in 37 games with 52 touches and 256 yards with one touchdown.
SEPT 30 CHUBB NEWS Browns star running Nick Chubb is expected to return to practice this week, a big move in his return from that nasty 2023 knee injury – and maybe a big boost for his 1-3 team as well.
We already know that Chubb is eligible to come off PUP, should he be judged as medically ready.
Coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed the tentative practive plan.
