Program to improve small businesses returns to Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A small business facade improvement program is returning to Fresno after the city approved a $400,00 contract with the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation.

The program will support small businesses and nonprofit organizations, with priority given to those located within the Infill Infrastructure Grant – Catalytic Qualifying Infill Area (IIGC) area.

According to officials, the program offers financial assistance for exterior facade improvements that are visible from public rights of way. These enhancements are designed to improve the overall streetscape, attract increased foot traffic, and foster economic growth in the Chinatown and Downtown Fresno area.

Officials say eligible businesses can apply for grants up to $20,000 with a required 25% matching contribution. The application period is now open and will close on Nov. 13 or once all funds have been awarded. To apply, click here .
