Tucson Food Truck, Popular For its Dumplings and Tots is Closing

Big or small, restaurant closure announcements are always laced with disappointment. Regardless of whether owners are retiring, moving on to pursue other dreams, or were unable to make the establishment work, the closure means patrons will likely no longer be able to enjoy their favorite meals and dishes. While disappointment is part of life, seeing a restaurant close never gets any easier. Here in Tucson, after a slew of closures earlier in the summer, the sector cooled off a bit, as restaurants geared up for the return of college students, snowbirds, and cooler weather. Despite the annual improvements, one local food vendor has announced he will serve his last official meal later in the year. 

Whether you’re a lover of food trucks or you simply drive past Hotel McCoy from time to time, there’s a good chance you’ve at the very least seen the Tran’s Fats food truck parked out front, hawking an array of dumplings and other goodies. Owner Jackie Tran opened the food truck in 2022 and immediately connected with a hungry audience, eager to sample his array of offerings.
