Lubbock Police to conduct directed traffic enforcement throughout October

LUBBOCK, Texas — For the month of October, the Lubbock Police Department will conduct directed traffic enforcement with a goal of minimizing the number of collisions throughout Lubbock.

In 2024 LPD responded to 3,799 collisions, with 1,404 of those being collisions with injuries– down nearly 10% compared to this time last year, said a press release. LPD said the goal of the operation is to reduce the number even further.

The directed enforcement called Operation Road Risk Reduction, is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. and will last until 8:30 p.m.

Directed traffic enforcement will be at the following areas on the listed dates below.

October 3 and October 4

  • 4th Street from the West Loop to Milwaukee Avenue
  • 19th Street from Frankford Avenue To Milwaukee Avenue
  • Milwaukee Avenue from 66th Street to Spur 327
  • 82nd Street from Vicksburg Avenue to Chicago Avenue

October 17 and October 18

  • Slide Road from 58th Street  to 69th Street
  • Quaker Avenue and South Loop 289
  • Indiana Avenue and South Loop 289
  • University Avenue and South Loop 289
