Santa Rosa Ties October 1st Heat Record; Heat Warning Expanded Until Thursday Night

Santa Rosa started October by tying a daily high temperature record set in 1980. The 102-degree high seen on Tuesday tied the record for the October 1st date, first set 44-years-ago. Santa Rosa was forecasted to reach 103 degrees but didn’t quite get there. No high temperature records were broken in either Sonoma or Napa counties. Today is day three of this fall heatwave. The North Bay interior valleys will be under a heat advisory until at least eleven o’clock tonight. Santa Rosa is expected to reach a high of 102 degrees this afternoon.
