Blake & Britt Around Town: Big Mini Putt Club

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids’ newest addition to the downtown scene is aiming to be a putt above the rest.

Featuring both a nine-hole miniature golf course and full-service bar, Big Mini Putt Club aims to bring a unique twist to bar selection in the city.

“Grand Rapids is an active lifestyle city,” founder Nick Jenkins said. “Unfortunately, there’s only so many months of the year we can actually be outside. And what we want to do is create a space where you can come in, have a drink, have fun, do an activity, feel active despite it being super cold outside.”

In addition to the mini golf course, Big Mini Putt Club features games like Skee-ball, Jenga, Connect Four, Pop-A-Shot basketball and more.

“But the crown jewel, of course, is the mini golf course,” Jenkins said.

The nearly 8,000-square-foot establishment on the corner of Ionia Avenue and Oakes Street near Van Andel Arena is the third Big Mini Putt Club location , with Chicago being home to the other two. Jenkins said the expansion into West Michigan was natural.
