Westlake Stabbing Victim Dies at Hospital

WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2 (KNN) — A man who was injured in a stabbing in Westlake around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, succumbed to his wounds at a local hospital.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at the intersection of Alvarado Street and Wilshire Boulevard.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they located a man, about 30 years old, on the ground, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest.

LAFD paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, according to Officer David Cuellar, a spokesperson for the LAPD.

A witness observed three to four males fist-fighting and then stabbing the victim, according to Cuellar. The suspects fled the location in an unknown direction.

It is unknown if the victim was homeless, and it’s also unknown if the incident is gang-related.

Central Bureau Homicide is handling the investigation.
