Rochester police use pepper spray at fight outside Franklin High School

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Rochester Police Department responded to fights outside Franklin High School Wednesday, and pepper spray was used before one teen at the scene was arrested on unrelated criminal sex act charges.

RPD says officers responded to Franklin High School around 2:30 p.m. as fights began to break out outside of the school.

According to RPD, an officer used pepper spray in order to break up the fights. An ambulance was called to the scene as a precaution, but police say no one requested treatment or reported any medical issues or injuries.

Officers on the scene as well as the Clinton Section Patrol were able to safely disperse the fights.

RPD says when officers were dispersing the fights they saw a 14-year-old boy who was wanted on a warrant for criminal sex act in the first degree. The boy was taken into custody and transported to Monroe County Childrens Center.
