Red Cross holding shelter academies in Wichita for hurricane relief efforts. Tuesday’s class spent three hours teaching people about meeting the basic needs storm survivors have. These roles also focus on setting up, opening, operating and closing a shelter, and working with shelter clients. Volunteers who complete the training will be able to respond to local and national relief operations.
