Mary Collette confirms run for Springfield mayor

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A long-time Springfield business owner and C-Street advocate is running for mayor.

Mary Collette confirmed with OzarksFirst her candidacy for city mayor in the April 2025 municipal election.

Collette is a former Springfield City Council member and passionate advocate for Commercial Street, renovating several buildings since 1980. She has owned Historic Firehouse No. 2 on C-Street, now a wedding venue and event space, since 1995, and is currently the president of the Commercial Club.

City Council to hear options for the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge restoration

Collette served on Springfield General City Council Seat A from 2001 to 2009.

As of Wednesday, October 2nd, Collette has one challenger in the Springfield Mayor’s race. Jeff Schrag, a Springfield entrepreneur and founder of Mother’s Brewing company announced his run for mayor on September 18th.

The two are running to replace current Springfield Mayor Ken McClure, who is retiring after serving in the role since 2017.
