Swinney Gives Wednesday Update on Woods’ Status

Following Wednesday’s practice, in his final media availability of the week, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney gave an update on the injury status of Peter Woods ahead of Saturday’s game at Florida State.

Clemson has been without Woods for the past two games. The star sophomore defensive lineman was injured in the first half of the win over App State on Sept. 7.

“He’s practiced every day and gotten better every day, so his status is still day to day,” Swinney said on Wednesday. “Making a lot of progress.”

On Tuesday, Swinney said this would be a big week for Woods in terms of his availability for Saturday’s game, and Swinney noted that Woods was “close” to being able to play in last Saturday’s game against Stanford.

Prior to the injury, Woods had six tackles (2.5 for loss) and one sack this season.

Saturday’s game between No. 15 Clemson (3-1, 2-0 ACC) and FSU (1-4, 1-3 ACC) at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee is set to kick off at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
