Uber driver rescued after getting lost overnight, crashing down steep ravine in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash — An Uber driver was rescued by Spokane Valley Firefighters Wednesday afternoon after they said she got lost overnight, and her vehicle plunged down a steep ravine in the woods.

Firefighters said they were called to the area of 44th and Sullivan around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, where they found her alive inside her SUV. It appeared her airbags had all deployed around her, and she was trapped inside overnight, for about 12 hours.

The woman’s sister and daughter were both at the crash scene when firefighters found her vehicle.

Firefighters were successful in rescuing her from the wreckage. The woman was taken to a hospital by ambulance. She complained of pain in one of her legs, but her injuries were minor, according to Fire District 8, who also responded.
