Tim Walz lands at Harrisburg International Airport to start Central PA bus tour

Vice presidential candidate Tim Walz landed at the Harrisburg International Airport on Wednesday, Oct. 2, his first campaign stop in central Pennsylvania since the VP debate.

The Minnesota governor’s stop at the Middletown airport is the beginning of a kick-off a bus tour through through the commonwealth, with stops in York and Reading. Walz participated in a national debate with Republican candidate JD Vance just one day earlier.

Clarifying some of his remarks about the debate, Walz expressed disappointment about Vance’s answers about the results of the 2020 election.

“I think in the midst of this you saw something very clear,” he said. “It is disqualifying to not acknowledge that the 2020 election was won by (President) Joe Biden, it’s as simple as that.”

Walz added the Vance’s answers that Donald Trump tried to save Obamacare “is an absolute falsehood,” and that the Trump campaign has continually called for a national ban on abortion.

The governor was joined by U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., who has ties to York County . Pennsylvania is one of the battleground states in the presidential race.
