Eugene man says singing, laughter are keys to longevity in celebrating 106th birthday

EUGENE, Ore. – He’s sharp, quick-witted, can sing, can recite the alphabet backwards, and he also knows how to celebrate. Beryl Dillman turned 106 years old on Tuesday and the resident at Merrill Gardens at Sheldon Park Assisted Living and Memory Care where his friends and family gathered to share in his celebration, including his youngest daughter, Ruth, who is 70, and her husband. Ruth said her dad loves life and being around people, playing bingo, and going on trips to see the world. One thing Beryl loves to do to keep himself young at heart is to sing and laugh.
