Who are the Therians?
TikTok is the source for a new category of individuals who live among us. They are called Therians who believe they are animals trapped in human bodies. Some who identify this way live in Virginia.
This ideology does not involve having an animal spirit guide or identifying with a beast for a superpower. These individuals say they belong to the animal kingdom and were born in the wrong body or lived as animals in their past lives.
Therians are part of the “otherkin” community, which includes anyone identifying as nonhuman. Examples would be elves, dragons, and other fictional characters. On Reddit, there were Therians from Roanoke and Staunton, Virginia.
