Area news in brief for Oct. 3

SOUP SALE – Mile Branch Grange plans its monthly drive-thru soup sale from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at 495 Knox School Road. Cost is $9 per quart. This month’s soups will be loaded potato and stuffed pepper. Soup must be preordered by noon Oct. 9by calling 330-821-8023. Leave your name, phone number, type of soup and number of quarts you desire. Soup will be packaged and delivered directly to your car, ready to heat when you get home.

PORK DINNER – First United Presbyterian Church, 265 W. Beech St. in Alliance, will serve its monthly pork dinner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Meals, available for dine-in or carryout, cost $10 apiece.

SEBRING COUNCIL – Sebring Village Council will meet for a workshop at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at Village Hall. Among items to be discussed are staffing and miscellaneous discussions.

COLUMBIANA SURVEY – Columbiana County health care leaders are collaborating on a needs assessment, and are asking area residents to provide feedback regarding their needed health services and barriers to accessing care. As a first step, all Columbiana County residents older than 18 can share their opinions about in an anonymous online or mail-in survey. The online survey should take no more than 10 to 15 minutes to complete and is available through Oct. 30 at this shortened link, https://shorturl.at/DKR3F . Paper copies of the survey are also available via Akron Children’s Hospital, Columbiana County Community Action Agency, Columbiana County Educational Service Center, Columbiana County Health District, Columbiana County Job and Family Services, Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, East Liverpool City Hospital, East Liverpool Health District, Family & Children First Council, Ohio State University Extension, Salem City Health District and Salem Regional Medical Center. The final survey results will be compiled into a comprehensive report.
