Ranking Knicks’ best trade assets heading into the season

The New York Knicks are about as close to all-in as possible.

This offseason the Knicks traded four first-round picks, two first-round picks owned by other teams, a pick swap, plus Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and Bojan Bogdanovic for Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns .

The Knicks entered the offseason with a plethora of future draft picks and trade-able contracts, poised to make a big move. Now, after two blockbuster deals, the Knicks have little wiggle room to make any future trades.

But the war chest is not completely empty yet.

The Knicks still do have some ways to make trades this season, be it for a more reliable big man or perhaps another wing to come off the bench.

If we assume the Knicks’ five best players, Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Bridges, and Towns, are untouchable (no sure thing outside of Towns and Brunson), here are the Knicks’ best remaining assets to make a deal this season.

1. Miles McBride, G

McBride made huge strides last season, taking over the reserve point guard spot and shooting over 40% from three while playing strong on-ball defense. McBride is commonly referred to as a wing in a point guard’s body, but with the way his game grew last season, we shouldn’t rule out the possibility of the 24-year-old becoming a better ball-handler and facilitator.
