‘My vote will speak for itself’: Valadao on who he is voting for president

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. ( KGPE ) – Congressmember David Valadao said he will let his vote “speak for itself” when asked about who he will be voting for in the 2024 presidential election.

The comments came during Wednesday evening’s Central Valley Congressional Debate. Valadao is running against former State Assemblymember Rudy Salas to represent California’s 22nd Congressional District.

‘Addition is not your thing’: Valadao to Salas during debate

Valadao said during the debate he has no intention of revealing whether he will be voting for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris for president.

“Any mention of who I’m voting for is gonna be perceived as an endorsement, and so I’ve chosen to run my race, focus on the 22nd Congressional District, and not get involved in the presidential race,” he said.

Valadao says Central Valley voters should not care about his political preference. Instead, they should care whether or not whoever is in Washington is “delivering” for the Central Valley and not afraid of “going against their own party.”
