Iowa Hawkeyes Star Reveals Blunt Take on Future Without Caitlin Clark

The Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team will enter the 2024-25 college basketball season without Caitlin Clark for the first time since 2019.

Following a historic career with the Hawkeyes, the Indiana Fever selected Clark as the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draft in April.

As she turned the page on her career, the Hawkeyes were forced to do the same.

Before the NCAA season tips off and Iowa heads into regular-season play, Hawkeyes star Hannah Stuelke spoke on the absence of Clark during Big Ten media day.

While Stuelke mentioned that the Hawkeyes will need to fill Clark’s production, she explained that Iowa is prepared to play a different style of offense and can still score at an elite level.

Stuelke also said that the Hawkeyes have another amazing player rostered in Villanova transfer, Lucy Olsen, who is set to bring “just as much” as Clark.

“It’s obviously going to change,” Stuelke said. “Caitlin’s a crazy scorer. Kate [Martin] brought a lot too. I think Lucy brings just as much and she’s an amazing basketball player. I think that we’re gonna score in a different way maybe, but I think we’re going to score just as much. So yeah, different but the same.”
