Man relieved after finding missing lottery ticket worth $500K

WASHINGTON D.C. (WJW) – One man is relieved and $500,000 richer after finding his winning lottery ticket that had been missing for about a month.

According to the DC Lottery , Phillip H. returned to the DC Lottery to claim his second of two winning prizes from a Lucky for Life drawing that was held on Aug. 12.

Phillip claimed his first $25,000 A Year for Life prize (a $500,000 value) soon after the drawing but said he was unable to find his second winning ticket.

More than a month later, he came back to claim the second $25,000 A Year for Life prize, according to the DC Lottery .

Phillip said his strategy is always selecting his numbers and then buying two tickets.

Now, Phillip plans on doing some home renovations and to buy a new truck to help with his volunteer efforts.

According to Lottery USA , the winning White Ball numbers were 3, 6, 17, 24, and 35, and the Lucky Ball was 2.
