Portland International Airport (PDX) made news this week, landing on multiple USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Airport Awards.
PDX’s unique local charm earned it recognition for both dining and shopping.
The 10Best award winners are aggregated by industry experts to nominate their favorites and best across a wide range of categories. These nominations are then vetted and the final selection are voted on for four weeks. In this edition of airport award winners, Portland International Airport was on two lists.
On the “Best Airport for Dining” list, PDX secured 10th place, thanks to its emphasis on “local flavors” like Capers Bistro and Burgerville. Travelers also appreciate the airport’s commitment to street pricing, which ensures dining options aren’t marked up compared to off-airport locations.
PDX also ranked 6th on the list for “Best Airport for Shopping.” The selection committee praised its mix of local and international shops , including Made in Oregon, Westward Whiskey, Calliope and Timberline.
