Albany man pleads not guilty to attempted murder

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Albany County District Attorney’s Office announced that an Albany man was arraigned on Thursday in a shots fired case. Nasir Abbott, 25, pleaded not guilty to second-degree attempted murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The initial indictment accused Abbott of intentionally trying to cause the death of another person on May 27 near West Street in Albany. He also allegedly had a loaded illegal firearm at the time of the incident.

Following his arraignment, Abbott was remanded to the Albany County Jail. He is scheduled to return to court on October 18.
