Governor JB Pritzker wants visitors to Starved Rock State Park to be able to charge their electric vehicles on site. At a Thursday press conference at a Southern Illinois state park, Governor JB Pritzker announced that 40 new level-two EV chargers will be installed at select parks, historic sites, and other widely-used state-owned spaces, including the extremely popular Starved Rock. Level-Two chargers typically are found in residential garages. These will be the first EV chargers the state’s made available to the public, and they’ll be free to use.
