Kentucky’s Hadley Duvall named a woman of the year by Glamour

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A woman who took her campaign for abortion rights from Kentucky to the nation has been named a Woman of the Year by Glamour .

Hadley Duvall , 22, was a Roe advocate who joined Gov. Andy Beshear’s campaign . Duvall from Owensboro gained notoriety when she began telling her story during the governor’s race between Beshear and former Attorney General Daniel Cameron.

She discussed the consequences of abortion restrictions, especially when states don’t have exceptions for rape or incest.

She was also the namesake for Senate Bill 99 , named Hadley’s Law , which was introduced on Jan. 9. The bill sought to add exceptions for rape, incest, fetal anomalies, and serious health complications for the mother to Kentucky’s abortion ban. The bill never received a committee assignment, which means it never even started the process of being debated by lawmakers.
