HBCU hoops team surprises custodian with gifts

Recently the North Carolina Central University basketball team surprised its gym custodian with a nice set of gifts, catching her completely off guard. LeVelle Moton , who coaches the Durham, North Carolina HBCU, posted a video to his Instagram account where he and his team were giving flowers to “Sarah” whose last name wasn’t given.

“Sarah is the lead custodian in Athletics and she does an Amazing job in keeping our facilities clean and safe. Our team wanted to surprise her with flowers and a gift card to let her know we appreciate her daily commitment….Everyday, she greets us with a smile to start our day. It was only right that we returned the favor…??? We were raised to give the custodian the same respect you would give to The Richest person on earth….Her tears said it all,” Moton posted to Instagram.

In the video Moton, along with five of his players, delivers a dozen roses and what he described as “lunch money for the next two weeks.”

Sarah was visibly taken aback from the gifts and offered these comments on camera that were translated from Spanish.
