St. Johns County-based Ring Power has donated a forklift to The Arc Jacksonville , which provides jobs and services for adults with intellectual and developmental differences.
The custom-painted forklift will be used at the nonprofit’s Triumph Industries, where disabled employees work on contracts that include production of 4 million boxes for Johnson & Johnson Vision’s contact lens shipments.
“We are incredibly grateful,” said Kari Bates, president & CEO of The Arc. “Triumph Industries … creates a sense of purpose, belonging and achievement for our participants.”
Ring Power CEO David Alban said the company’s ongoing community support includes “empowering individuals with differences.” Triumph, he said, does “incredible work” and he hopes the forklift can “further their impact.”
Triumph employs about 45 individuals who have intellectual and developmental differences and earn at least minimum wage for their work, according to The Arc .
