Charges filed after man allegedly flees accident scene

Prosecutors have filed three charges against a Seymour man who they allege left an accident scene earlier this summer on Highway 32.

David M. Hunsucker, born in 1982, is charged with failing to drive on the right side of the roadway involving an accident, a misdemeanor; leaving the scene of an accident – property damage more than $1,000, a felony; and driving a commercial motor vehicle without a commercial motor vehicle driver’s license, a misdemeanor.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded July 16 to an overturned log truck that struck a utility pole on Highway 32 east of Mill Road and found the driver had fled shortly after the crash.

Logs were scattered, the pole hit and a barbwire fence damaged.

A computer check showed Hunsucker was wanted on two active felony warrants, according to a report.

He was arrested in Pulaski County and transported to Texas County before posting the $2,000 cash-only bond.
