Robert Griffin III Sounds Off with Bold Praise for Kirk Cousins After Record-Shattering Performance

Robert Griffin III took to social media to deliver a strong endorsement of Kirk Cousins after he set an Atlanta Falcons franchise record in a thrilling 36-30 overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday.

Cousins turned in one of the best performances of his career, carving up the Bucs defense through the air. He completed 72% of his passes for 509 yards and four touchdowns.

More impressively, Cousins shook off a late interception and put the Falcons in the position to win. He found KhaDarel Hodge on a 45-yard strike early in overtime to seal the victory.

Griffin praised his former teammate on social media after the victory.

“That was an MVP level performance from Kirk Cousins. Franchise Record 509 yards, 4 TDs,” Griffin wrote on X . “Clutch 4th Quarter drive to get in position to tie the game AFTER a bad int that could have ended the game. TD throw to end it in Overtime. Beautiful response. YOU LOVE TO SEE IT.”

The two spent time together in Washington. Cousins eventually claimed the starting QB spot from Griffin, who battled injuries following his selection as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
