Less than two months after the last movie was shown at Governor’s Square Mall, mall officials announced that Phoenix Theatres is coming to Clarksville, investing $5 million to refurbish the 10-screen theatre.
On Wednesday morning, Governor’s Square Mall officials announced that Michigan-based Phoenix Theatres has signed a long-term lease to bring the movie theater to the mall.
“This announcement signals another major quality-of-life enhancement for our city’s residents, and visitors, alike,” Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said. “The enjoyment of watching a first-run movie in a premier, comfortable, first-class setting is returning to our primary regional shopping center, Governor’s Square Mall, through the much-welcomed investment from Phoenix Theatres.”
The company is set to invest $5 million to renovate the 10-screen theatre that was AMC Theatre until September when the leases ended with the mall.
The 42,312-square-foot facility will undergo upgrades, including premium reclining heated seating, 4K laser digital projection and family-friendly prices before opening its doors in summer of 2025.
