Suspect in homicide of Marvin Lamar Hatcher located by Portsmouth police

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Portsmouth Police have located a suspect involved in the homicide of Marvin Lamar Hatcher.

Known as “Tony the Tiger,” 65-year-old Tony Anthony McKeithan was apprehended by police on Wednesday, Oct. 2, without incident.

He has been charged with first-degree murder, malicious shooting, discharge of a firearm in public, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, school zone and use of a firearm.

On Sept. 24 at approximately 10:20 a.m., Portsmouth Police responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Gilmerton Avenue and discovered Hatcher suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

McKeithan was arraigned on Thursday morning and is currently being held without bail.
