Police asking for information regarding Saturday’s fatal crash in West Lubbock

Police are asking for further information about another car in the vicinity of a fatal crash early Saturday morning, Sept. 28, in west Lubbock.

According to Lubbock police, officers responded to a report of a collision with injuries at 12:45 a.m. in the 7000 block of Spur 327.

During the initial investigation, it appears that a motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Joshua Bustos Jr. was westbound in the 6500 block of Spur 327. Bustos lost control of the motorcycle at one point and was struck by a car while in the roadway.

Bustos was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the car was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

According to LPD, information has been obtained that a third vehicle was observed in the immediate area after the collision. This vehicle was last seen driving west on Spur 327.

The investigation is ongoing, with LPD asking anyone with information on this case or the driver of this vehicle to contact Crime Line at 806-741-1000 or Detective Matt Roller at 806-775-2876.
