ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Northwest Community Center received a $1,000 donation from the Hard Rock Casino Thursday morning, in an effort to help with employment training and afterschool programs.
“This is going to make a tremendous impact on the programming we have here. It’s gonna help further our mission, which is to provide a place for the local community to gather, learn, and actually be social,” said Northwest’s executive director, Nicole Fricks.
Northwest Community Center said the money would help pay for its upcoming “ Pianos and Pancakes ” fundraiser on October 26th at the NIU Rockford Conference Center, at 8500 East State Street.
