Mt. Juliet survey works to identify dangerous roads

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Mt. Juliet is asking for the community’s help to identify dangerous roads.

City Commissioner Ray Justice told News 2 traffic is the biggest issue the city’s facing as it grows.

“Mt. Juliet Road, Central Pike, Lebanon Road has become a traffic torture chamber, for the most part, of people trying to get back and forth,” Justice said.

Justice has heard the concerns for years: “This is a Middle Tennessee issue. It’s not just a City of Mt. Juliet issue.”

The city is hoping to be part of the solution by asking residents to take part in the Mt. Juliet’s Safety Action Plan. It’s a five-minute survey asking what improvements you would like to see. On the interactive map, you can see reported crash locations and other areas of concern.

“The federal government and state governments all realize that we have traffic issues that have to be addressed, and so this is a statewide program,” Justice said
