FEMA announces $95M for substation repairs and Laura damage

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – FEMA has announced an additional $95,709,638.47 has been earmarked for Hurricane Laura recovery, according to U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. The funds are part of a larger $144 hurricane relief package and focus mostly on offsetting the cost of repairs and restoration of electric substations damaged during the storm. The funds also include grant funding for the Calcasieu Parish School Board, the New Epps Library, and the Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness.
