Fire blazes from Petersburg duplex, officials investigating

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A Petersburg duplex caught ablaze early Friday morning, after which firefighters brought the fire under control.

The Petersburg Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services was dispatched to South Old Church Street in the early morning on Friday, Oct. 4 for a reported house fire, according to a post to social media by the city .

When firefighters arrived, they found a 1-story duplex ablaze. It reportedly took firefighters about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
