VENICE – Los Angeles firefighters and police officers stood alongside city officials and community leaders at a press conference this week in Venice to voice their strong support for Proposition 36. The proposition seeks to reclassify certain theft and drug crimes as felonies, in response to frustrations over repeat offenders causing chaos in neighborhoods with little or no consequences.
