KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department is asking for information to help identify remains investigators found in 2022. It started on Aug. 16, when officers found a woman’s remains were found in a wooded area around E. Fourth Avenue. Since then, the department has released a sketch from the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) and submitted her DNA for genetic testing.
