Man trying to sell marijuana stabbed outside San Diego Central Jail: police

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 32-year-old man was sent to the hospital Thursday after being stabbed by a suspect outside of the San Diego Central Jail, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. when the victim reportedly walked up to another man, 24, and asked him if he wanted to buy some marijuana. The suspect expressed that he didn’t want to purchase any and then a fight ensued.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound.

The suspect was located a few blocks away and taken into police custody. A knife was recovered at that time.

Central Division detectives will be investigating the stabbing. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
