John M. White, 32, is accused of being the person who beat a 29-year-old man for several minutes on the porch of a residence in the 600 block of Perry Street on the early morning of Sept. 22. The assault was witnessed and was captured on surveillance video, according to investigators.

As part of the investigation into the assault, detectives located a Facebook post featuring two videos that showed an altercation outside of an eastside lounge in which the victim is seen striking White before running off, according to information in the affidavit filed with White’s complaint. Police later canvassed the neighborhood where the assault occurred and located surveillance video that captured the assault. The clothing the suspect in the assault was wearing was similar to the clothing White was seen wearing in the earlier video, according to the affidavit.
