HOUSTON, Texas (ValleyCentral) – A 23-year-old Texas man was sentenced to federal prison for plotting a murder-for-hire scheme on his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. Alejandro Cardona-Rodriguez, a Mexican national who was residing in Houston, first came to be on the radar of law enforcement in January of 2023. At the time, authorities intercepted messages he sent via Facebook and WhatsApp, negotiating a fee for the murder of one of his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriends.
