MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man who was arrested in 2021 after police said he shot at a cat and had a stockpile of weapons in his home faces new charges after police said they found another stockpile in August.
Christopher Perrote, 38, is charged with seven counts of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and five counts of possessing body armor as a convicted felon.
According to a criminal complaint field Thursday in Dane County, police began investigating Perrote after staff at Summit Bank flagged some potentially suspicious transactions on his account.
Perrote allegedly transferred $105,000 from his Chase account to his Summit account on May 30, then made a $46,000 transfer from the Chase account to the Summit account on Aug. 13.
He allegedly made a $436.98 payment to Wirthwein Guns on Aug. 13, and two payments totaling over $2,200 to Matrix Precision, a gun tools and accessories site.
Perrote also allegedly made several payments to Pro-Palestinian GoFundMe accounts associated with the war in Gaza.
