Body found in trunk of burned car ruled homicide: Medical examiner

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Cleveland police detectives continue investigating after the death of a man found in a burned car last weekend was ruled a homicide.

As FOX 8 previously reported, Cleveland firefighters responded to a car fire in the area of Aspinwall Avenue and East 138th Street just after 2 a.m. Saturday.

When they got there, fire officials found the burned-up sports utility vehicle with a body inside the trunk. Homicide detectives were then called to the scene.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim, identified as 34-year-old Lucian Sheppard, suffered from gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

The case remains under investigation at this time.
