BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – First responders from across Alabama are still assisting neighbors in North Carolina as they work to recover from Hurricane Helene. Birmingham Fire and Rescue leaders are asking for prayers for their firefighters who have worked in the area since last Friday. The first responders are physically and emotionally exhausted.
