GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The oldest Polish hall in the country is welcoming people in for Pulaski Days with more than half a million dollars in renovations.
The money raised at Jackson Street Hall will help support the project that has revived the look of the hall over the past year.
Crews installed a new sign on Friday, just in time for the crowds expected this weekend.
“We’ve been waiting for that sign to top off this whole project so it means a lot,” Doug Preston, the project manager, said.

The Polish National Aid Society was founded in 1878 with Jackson Street Hall opening 10 years later.
“This is kind of the answer to a lot of prayers and community involvement. The amount of hands that have come on to do this has really been amazing,” Mike Kozal, counsel to the chair of the Polish National Aid Society, said.
