Cloudy skies, high of 78 on Friday in the Triad

(WGHP) — Two pattern shifts are ahead for the 7-day outlook…

The first is a decidedly warmer, drier pattern that will extend into Monday of the upcoming week. Average highs should be in the mid-70s, but our highs will be between 78° and 81° today through Monday.

Today, expect cloudy skies that will stay around for area football games tonight. Be sure to catch all the highlights on FOX8 High School Football Frenzy after the FOX8 10:00 news tonight. Lows tomorrow morning will be in the mid-60s.

A cold front coming in tomorrow morning is going to clear our skies out for Saturday.  We will have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies on Sunday and Monday, which will be the end of the first pattern shift.

The second shift in our weather begins Tuesday after a cold front drops through the state.  The middle of next week is going to be all about autumn weather!

We’ll have sunny skies with highs in the lower-70’s EVERY DAY.  More noticeable will be the overnight lows, settling into the upper-40s on Wednesday and Thursday mornings!
