Moon Area offense can’t solve Peters Township in Allegheny Six loss

MOON TOWNSHIP — Even with the Moon Area defense holding Peters Township to two touchdowns on offense, the Tigers could not get into a rhythm Friday night as it fell 23-14, dropping its second straight Allegheny Six Conference game.

“It is frustrating, the defense executed well and did a great job tonight but we still found ourselves on the wrong end of the sticks,” Moon Area coach Ryan Linn said. “This conference that we play in is brutal so hats off to Peters Township because they battled when they were down at the half. But at the end of the day, we didn’t execute and make enough plays.”

The Tigers suffered eight three-and-outs as Peters Township’s front seven did not allow Moon Area to run its Wing-T offense as it stuffed its runners for minimal gains.

“We could not get any movement up front on the offensive line,” Linn said. “Peters Township has two Division I kids on each side of the line and great linebacker so they make everyone better around them. Those three kids gave us fits to where we could not sustain blocks long enough.”
