Michael Shufeldt of Woodland, Washington, didn’t have to drown a week ago Wednesday. The professional fishing guide lost his life while fishing with clients out of Hood River when his boat swamped in a sudden and savage burst of wind, which quickly built large swells in devastatingly short intervals.
