Lexington Philharmonic to donate portion of ticket sales to help Appalachian hurricane survivors

The Lexington Philharmonic is using the power of music to help the survivors of Hurricane Helene in Appalachia.

Lexphil officials announced Friday that they will donate $1 for each ticket sold to their October and November concerts to theĀ Appalachian Helene Response Fund.

They will be doing so through the Appalachian Funders Network. The donation from ticket sales in October will be matched 50% through a personal pledge from the LexPhil music director Melisse Brunet, up to $1000.

The Donation from November sales will be have a 100% match made by the LexPhil board of directors.
